THE BIBLE
PSALMS
23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul:
51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
103:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
EZEKIEL
36:26 … A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:
27 … I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
28 … and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
GENESIS
6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them;
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven;
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee;
5 And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.
7:17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.
8:1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;
8:15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,
16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
ISAIAH
40:31 … they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
35:4 Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
MATTHEW
12:10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
13 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
14 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
15 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
EPHESIANS
4:22 … put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 … put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
26 let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Neither give place to the devil.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
5:2 … walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, …
REVELATION
21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
II CORINTHIANS
6:2 … behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
17 … if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
SCIENCE AND HEALTH WITH KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES
BY MARY BAKER EDDY
SH 592:22
Noah. … knowledge of the nothingness of material things and of the immortality of all that is spiritual.
SH 241:13-14
The Bible teaches transformation of the body by the renewal of Spirit.
SH 390:7-9
It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony.
SH 428:8
To divest thought of false trusts and material evidences in order that the spiritual facts of being may appear, — this is the great attainment by means of which we shall sweep away the false and give place to the true. Thus we may establish in truth the temple, or body, “whose builder and maker is God.”
SH 256:2-5
Advancing to a higher plane of action, thought rises from the material sense to the spiritual, from the scholastic to the inspirational, and from the mortal to the immortal.
SH 357:4
God is “of purer eyes than to behold evil.” We sustain Truth, not by accepting, but by rejecting a lie.
SH 201:17, 7-9 Truth
The way to extract error from mortal mind is to pour in truth through flood-tides of Love. Christian perfection is won on no other basis.
Truth makes a new creature, in whom old things pass away and “all things are become new.”
SH 261:4
Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts.
SH 150:26
The doctrine that man’s harmony is governed by physical conditions all his earthly days, and that he is then thrust out of his own body by the operation of matter, — even the doctrine of the superiority of matter over Mind, — is fading out.
SH 276:26 Discord
Discord is the nothingness named error. Harmony is the somethingness named Truth.
SH 186:22-24
If we concede the same reality to discord as to harmony, discord has as lasting a claim upon us as has harmony.
SH 103:25 (to ,)
The truths of immortal Mind sustain man,…
SH 420:3-4
Truth not error, Love not hate, Spirit not matter, governs man.
SH 242:9
There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality — to have no other consciousness of life — than good, God and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses.
SH 470:32
The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history.
SH 276:19
When we learn in Science how to be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect, thought is turned into new and healthy channels, — towards the contemplation of things immortal and away from materiality to the Principle of the universe, including harmonious man.
SH 323:28-32
The effects of Christian Science are not so much seen as felt. It is the “still, small voice” of Truth uttering itself. We are either turning away this utterance, or we are listening to it and going up higher.
SH 91:5-7
Let us rid ourselves of the belief that man is separated from God, and obey only the divine Principle, Life and Love.
SH 208:20
Let us learn of the real and eternal, and prepare for the reign of Spirit, the kingdom of heaven, — the reign and rule of universal harmony, which cannot be lost nor remain forever unseen.
SH 91:1
The Revelator tells us of “a new heaven and a new earth.” Have you ever pictured this heaven and earth, inhabited by beings under the control of supreme
wisdom?
SH 446:20
To understand God strengthens hope, enthrones faith in Truth, and verifies Jesus’ word: “Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

A New Crop Of Blessings

“If only I hadn’t gone into debt.” “If only I could erase those painful memories.” “If only I had another chance to make things right.”
The “If only” list is familiar to many people who yearn for restoration. Regret over missed opportunities, a job lost, or a relationship that didn’t work out the way we wished it had, can weigh us down.
But there is a spiritual way to erase bad effects from past misfortunes that doesn’t require one to rewind the human experience. As God promised through the words of Joel the prophet, “I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten”.
With God, it doesn’t matter what happened yesterday—improvement is about recognizing what is possible today.
Restoration is much more than a returned or positively altered human condition. It is spiritual and mental advancement, an increased understanding and demonstration of what is real in God’s design for being. As we express God better, healing happens. Troubled relationships can adjust and become joyous with a greater understanding and demonstration of divine Love’s all-inclusiveness. Finances can be reinvigorated; family life and marriages revived with forgiveness, charity, patience, trust, and care. Gratitude can defeat depression.
God is our primal source. God is our supplier. God is the producer and creator of all good in our lives.
You are loved and cared for. You are divinely watched over and provided for. You have a spiritual individuality that is abundantly endowed with the wisdom, intelligence, and capacity to understand, love, and be loved. You are spiritual! You are the child of a beneficent God, not the offspring of chance, want, and woe. Restoration comes from identifying with your spiritual self, your wholeness and completeness in God’s likeness, and from discarding impoverished points of view.
Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “The great spiritual fact must be brought out that man is, not shall be, perfect and immortal” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 428). We are living our eternal spiritual life right now. Our divine livelihood is gifted with the wealth of Spirit, not to be gained in the future, but to be discovered, acted upon, and honored this moment.
