THE BIBLE
PSALMS
18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
31 For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?
JEREMIAH
23:23 Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off?
30:17 …I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord;
22 And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
EZEKIEL
34:1 ¶ For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.
12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
16 I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick:
28 … they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.

2:10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?
ISAIAH
9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.
MATTHEW
4:23 ¶ And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
LUKE
9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
10:1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
17 ¶ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
JOHN
14:5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil.
18:12 Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
13 And led him away to Annas first;
18 The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
19 Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
18:33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
37 … Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth.
38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth?
19:14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him.
16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

16:5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

SCIENCE & HEALTH WITH KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES
BY MARY BAKER EDDY
SH 593:18 (to 2nd .)
ROCK. Spiritual foundation; Truth.
Jesus established his church and maintained his mission on a spiritual foundation of Christ-healing. He taught his followers that his religion had a divine Principle, which would cast out error and heal both the sick and the sinning.
SH 328:30-31
The purpose of his great life-work extends through time and includes universal humanity.
SH 288:20
The chief stones in the temple of Christian Science are to be found in the following postulates: that Life is God, good, and not evil; that Soul is sinless, not to be found in the body; that Spirit is not, and cannot be, materialized; that Life is not subject to death; that the spiritual real man has no birth, no material life, and no death.
There is no power apart from God. Omnipotence has all-power, and to acknowledge any other power is to dishonor God.
SH 287:22-27
Error is false, mortal belief; it is illusion, without spiritual identity or foundation, and it has no real existence. The supposition that life, substance, and intelligence are in matter, or of it, is an error. Matter is neither a thing nor a person, but merely the objective supposition of Spirit’s opposite.
SH 411:20
The procuring cause and foundation of all sickness is fear, ignorance, or sin. Disease is always induced by a false sense mentally entertained, not destroyed. Disease is an image of thought externalized. The mental state is called a material state. Whatever is cherished in mortal mind as the physical condition is imaged forth on the body.
SH 134:17
Denial of the possibility of Christian healing robs Christianity of the very element, which gave it divine force and its astonishing and unequalled success in the first century.
SH 133:19-21, 24
Judaism was the antithesis of Christianity, because Judaism engendered the limited form of a national or tribal religion.
That he made “himself equal with God,” was one of the Jewish accusations against him who planted Christianity on the foundation of Spirit, who taught as he was inspired by the Father and would recognize no life, intelligence, nor substance outside of God.
SH 360:28
Of old, the Jews put to death the Galilean Prophet, the best Christian on earth, for the truth he spoke and demonstrated, while to-day, Jew and Christian can unite in doctrine and denomination on the very basis of Jesus’ words and works. The Jew believes that the Messiah or Christ has not yet come; the Christian believes that Christ is God. Here Christian Science intervenes, explains these doctrinal points, cancels the disagreement, and settles the question. Christ, as the true spiritual idea, is the ideal of God now and forever, here and everywhere. The Jew who believes in the First Commandment is a monotheist; he has one omnipresent God. Thus the Jew unites with the Christian’s doctrine that God is come and is present now and forever. The Christian who believes in the First Commandment is a monotheist. Thus he virtually unites with the Jew’s belief in one God, and recognizes that Jesus Christ is not God, as Jesus himself declared, but is the Son of God. This declaration of Jesus, understood, conflicts not at all with another of his sayings: “I and my Father are one,” — that is, one in quality, not in quantity. As a drop of water is one with the ocean, a ray of light one with the sun, even so God and man, Father and son, are one in being. The Scripture reads: “For in Him we live, and move, and have our being.”
Jesus patiently persisted in teaching and demonstrating the truth of being. His students saw this power of Truth heal the sick, cast out evil, raise the dead; but the ultimate of this wonderful work was not spiritually discerned, even by them, until after the crucifixion, when their immaculate Teacher stood before them, the victor over sickness, sin, disease, death, and the grave.
The epoch approaches when the understanding of the truth of being will be the basis of true religion.
What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds. To keep the commandments of our Master and follow his example, is our proper debt to him and the only worthy evidence of our gratitude for all that he has done. Outward worship is not of itself sufficient to express loyal and heartfelt gratitude, since he has said: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
SH 192:27-29
We walk in the footsteps of Truth and Love by following the example of our Master in the understanding of divine metaphysics.
SH 37:22
Hear these imperative commands: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect!” “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature!” “Heal the sick!”

“God Gave Man Dominion”
By Lucien Caille
Christian Science Journal, October 1964
“Christian Science teaches that God, infinite Mind, controls and governs the entire universe, including man, through spiritual laws. Divine Mind is One, unopposed, filling all space, the supreme intelligence, which conceives and knows only good. As the image and likeness of God, man reflects God’s supremacy. Subject to God only, man has dominion over the whole universe.
“Persistent spiritualization of one’s thoughts, not control of persons, places, or things, is all that one requires in order to exercise God-given dominion.
“Christ Jesus proved man’s God-given dominion by healing the sick, reforming the sinner, raising the dead, feeding the multitudes, walking unharmed through angry crowds, and finally raising himself from the grave. All evils—all worldly beliefs—surrendered to his understanding of God. He showed that Christ, Truth, is the way of dominion and freedom.
“In proportion as one realizes the supremacy of Life, Truth, and Love, one is able to exercise the dominion of activity over inactivity, truth over error, health over sickness, love over hate, compassion over indifference, life over death.”
